FAQ

Welcome to the Stretch, your daily dose of sports trivia. Below are some frequently asked questions, but if you have a question that isn't covered here, feel free to email us at admin+the-stretch-site@protonmail.com Where did the idea for the Stretch come from? It's simple, really. People love sports, and people love trivia. Those two circles overlap in a big way, and yet before the Stretch, there was a real lack of consistently good sports trivia on the internet. We're aiming to change that. Who is the Stretch made for? Sports fans of every shape and size. Casual fans should find a few questions each day that are in their wheelhouse, while true diehards will finally be challenged by our more difficult questions. There's truly something for everyone. What kinds of questions can I expect? Our goal is to cover anything and everything having to do with sports. That means popular and niche sports, Hall-of-Famers and one-hit wonders, and sports as viewed through both historical and pop culture lenses. The best players will have a deep working knowledge of the entire sporting world and be ready for anything. That also means that although our questions are written from a decidedly American perspective, global sports and international athletes are absolutely fair game, as well. Why should I subscribe? There's an old saying that you get what you pay for, and we at the Stretch believe that's true. Two weeks' worth of quizzes are available to everyone as a way to show what we're offering, but after that, a paid subscription is necessary to continue playing. Paid subscribers will have access to a new nine-question quiz every single day, with no exceptions, and they'll also have access to stats, leaderboards, and achievements. Subscribing for a year works out to less than 6 cents a day, or less than a penny per question. If you love sports trivia, it's a no-brainer. Who writes the questions? All questions, answers, and facts are meticulously researched and written by the Commissioner. No A.I. is or will ever be used in that regard, because sports are good, A.I. is bad, and we need more good things made for humans, by humans. Will there be any special events? Yes! We're planning on having sport-specific rounds of questions on special days. For instance, the first day of the NCAA Basketball Tournament will be all college basketball questions. MLB Opening Day will be all baseball, and so on. If a new sports movie hits it big, we can do a day of sports movie questions. The possibilities are endless, and as the site continues to grow, it will only give us more opportunities to do cool things. What do I do if I believe I correctly answered one of the questions but it was marked as incorrect? Though we strive to ensure that any reasonable answer is marked correct, sometimes for spelling or other reasons a correct answer may slip through. In that case, email us at admin+the-stretch-site@protonmail.com and we'll look into it and make a change to your score if one is necessary. Is there enough sports trivia out there to support nine new questions a day? You bet there is! Whether we're asking about events from 100 or more years ago or something that just happened this past season, there's an endless pool from which to draw these questions from. Our goal at the Stretch is for this to be a daily part of people's lives for years to come, like Wordle or a crossword puzzle but specially geared towards sports fans. How can I help? If you love the Stretch, spread the word! Tell your friends, your family, or the fellow parent sitting next to you at your kid's soccer game. This is a grassroots operation without the ability to buy ad time on ESPN, so we're relying on our players to get the word out in any way they can.
